BeeGen – Beekeepers generation bridging 

BeeGen project is an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project started on November 2019 and will run for 24 months. The project will provide various educational contents and results. BeeGen project aims to focus on professional beekeepers and provide them with professional training materials necessary for the proper conduct of the apiary.  

According to the Polish Association of Beekeepers of more than 60% of beekeepers it exceeded the age of 60 years. This fact is also confirmed by a survey carried out during the project Leonardo da Vinci titled Beekeeping European Environmental Sustainability TO BEE OR NOT TO BEEEZZ, where 153 surveyed beekeepers most were aged between 61 and 70 years. Based on the survey, it is clear that there is a need to interest young people in beekeeping. At the same time based on the research clearly shows that the professional group that beekeepers are constantly in need of professional training. 

The target groups of the project are: 

– Young beekeepers and people who want to start a profession beekeeper 

– Experienced professional beekeepers 

– Agricultural advisers 

– Teachers of agricultural schools. 

The project is gathering partners from six EU countries: Poland (STOWARZYSZENIE ARID)Spain (FORMACION PARA ELDESARROLLO EINSERCION, SOCIEDAD LIMITADA)Romania (CPIP-COMUNITATEAPENTRU INVATAREA PERMANENTA)Slovakia (New Edu, n.o), Poland (UNIWERSYTE TPRZYRODNICZY WEWROCLAWIU)Greece (PANEPISTIMIO PATRON).
